Josef 'Sepp' Puschnig, born 1946 in Klagenfurt, Austria, ranks as one of the best and most talented Austrian hockey players of all time. He had his senior debut with his hometown club Klagenfurter AC at the age of 16 and never represented another club throughout his entire career. After the foundation of the Bundesliga in 1965, Puschnig played 299 league games to collect a total of 486 points (190 goals, 296 assists). In 13 years with the team, he won eleven national championships, summing up to a total of 13 including two titles before 1965.
He represented the Austrian national team in 123 international games (50 goals, 55 assists) and participated in eleven World Championships plus three Olympics. After retiring from the game of hockey at the age of 32, he was inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999 as the first and only Austrian player so far. In 2012, Puschnig was elected as Austrian hockey player of the century.
