Film Room: Colby Barlow is more than a one-dimensional shooter
The public sphere seems to have rallied around Colby Barlow, and with good reason. He scored 30 goals as a 16-year-old in the OHL. He's one of the most physically mature players in the draft. On top of that all, he consistently demonstrates pro-style habits with his on-ice play.
It should come as no surprise then that the Owen Sound Attack named Barlow the youngest captain in their franchise history then; a rarity for a first-time draft-eligible prospect. The only other CHL players in Nashville to share that honour are Connor Bedard and Nate Danielson.
He checks so many boxes for NHL teams that it wouldn’t surprise many if he ends up being selected within the first 10-12 picks.
Had it not been for a late-season injury, Barlow might have become the first draft-eligible player to score 50 goals
