Around The AHL: Caufield to Rocket to the pro game

Even the addition of a bluechip prospect like Cole Caufield hasn't shaken Laval Rocket head coach Joël Bouchard from his game-day routine.

The Rocket will welcome Caufield to their first-place Canadian Division team after the parent Montréal Canadiens announced the 20-year-old Caufield’s signing this past Saturday. The deal came one day after his University of Wisconsin Badgers club was eliminated from the NCAA Frozen Four tournament. Montréal then sent Caufield, the 15th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, to the Rocket to begin his pro career. His three-year, two-way entry-level contract begins with this season, but before he can play he first must go through a COVID-19 quarantine period upon arriving in Canada this week.
