Around The AHL: Prospects leading the way for Bakersfield Condors

Step aside, Stockton Heat. Step up, Bakersfield Condors.

Now another Alberta-based NHL club’s AHL affiliate owns an eight-game winning streak. While the Heat and their Calgary Flames prospects lost their eight-game run this past weekend, the Condors now hold their own eight-gamer. Better yet for the parent Edmonton Oilers, prospects are the ones leading the way for the Condors.

Those eight consecutive wins for the Condors have followed them losing their opening five games of the AHL seasons. They took a pair of victories this past weekend and will head into a busy week with four more dates on their calendar. This sort of impressive run is not new for the Condors. In 2018-19, they piled up 17 wins in a row, tying a mark for the second-longest winning streak in AHL history.
