Around The AHL: School is still in, Warsofsky stresses
Summer break is not here yet, Chicago Wolves head coach Ryan Warsofsky is stressing.
Warsofsky, the second-year head coach of the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes (and for this season, the Nashville Predators as well), has been pushing that message hard as the AHL regular season schedule enters its final week for most clubs.
The Wolves lost three consecutive games, including a 3-1 home loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins this past Saturday night, before taking a 6-5 home win against the Rockford IceHogs to open this week. But even in the win against Rockford, the Wolves had to scramble to nail down the win after having had 4-1 and 5-2 leads. At 19-8-1-2, the Wolves are on the brink of taking the Central Division title and have a magic number of four.
