Fantasy Focus: Checking in on the rookie class

As we approach the mid-point of the NHL season, fantasy managers in keeper and dynasty leagues must decide whether to go for it now or start looking ahead to the future. That future includes a stellar crop of rookies from the 2023-24 season so before making any major roster-altering trades, let’s check in on some of this season’s rookie crop outside of the elite tier of Connor Bedard, Luke Hughes, and Adam Fantilli. 

Connor Zary

Sitting at 0.63 points per game, Connor Zary is currently fourth among rookies in points per game. Like many other Calgary Flame skaters, there has been an issue of reliance as he has six games of at least 18 minutes played and six games over under 13 minutes. That, along with a power play that has been very meagre, makes it hard to rely on him week to week. He is al
