Trade Analysis: Florida Panthers acquire Claude Giroux from the Philadelphia Flyers

The trade deadline isn't officially here until Monday, but what better way to truly kick the festivities into high gear than with a true whopper of a trade such as this one. 

The Florida Panthers have won the Claude Giroux sweepstakes, landing the most impactful rental player available for a package built around Owen Tippett, and a 2024 first-round pick. While it's obviously not necessarily the first big trade we've seen this week -- with all due respect to players like Hampus Lindholm, Ben Chiarot, Josh Manson, and Calle Järnkrok --, the impact of this one registers on an entirely different scale than those acquisitions because of the calibre of player Giroux still is.
