Fantasy Focus: How trade deadline moves could reshape roles for those left behind

The NHL Trade Deadline is just over two weeks away and we have already seen some key names on the move in Elias Lindholm and Sean Monahan. These trades leave important roles on their former teams which is what we’ve seen with the Calgary Flames’ Yegor Sharangovich moving to centre and the Montreal Canadiens’ Alex Newhook taking top power play minutes. Those types of players can be important fantasy producers down the stretch, as Tommy NovakBrayden Schenn, and Juuso Välimäki were last season. Let’s look at the void that will be left behind once (if) key deadline candidates are moved and why fantasy managers should be interested.
