Staying current on role changes, injury news, and prospect recalls is an important aspect to narrowing down targets on fantasy hockey waiver wires. Let’s dig through players who have pushed themselves to the top of the fantasy hockey waiver wire pile. 

Nicolas Roy, C/RW – Vegas Golden Knights (Rostered: 2% Yahoo, 15% Fantrax)

Mark Stone missed Vegas’s game on Friday and is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. 

In Vegas’s first game without Stone, Nicolas Roy was moved to the top line and top power-play unit alongside Jack Eichel.  Roy skated a season-high 20:36 in that game, had a goal and an assist, and remained in both roles all game. Until we get further notice on Stone’s health or new line combinations, Roy is expected to have significantly more usage with the Golden Knights.
