The Central Division has the most exciting rookie we have seen in the NHL since Connor McDavid entered the league back in 2015. There is also loads of talent at all positions, plus a legitimate threat to the Calder Trophy favorite. Let’s dig in and find out who we need to be following the closest.

Matias Maccelli

Matias Maccelli finished fourth in Calder trophy voting in 2022-23 and had a good case to finish higher considering he did more with the resources afforded him. Maccelli had a 63-point pace playing primarily with Lawson Crouse and Nick Bjugstad. No disrespect to those guys, but Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther are probably upgrades.
