In this week's Prospect Prospective we’ll be looking at a prospect who has yet to establish himself in the NHL. We’ll examine the reasons for this and what fantasy upside remains.

In this edition, we will focus on Alex Laferriere who the Los Angeles Kings selected 83rd overall in 2020. The EP Rinkside team had him ranked 113th in the guide so that could have been considered a reach by the Kings. But, spoiler alert, he is playing in the NHL now so it seems like the Kings made a good pick.

In his draft season, much was made of the similarity of his name to the number one overall pick Alexis Lafreniere. Undoubtedly, numerous fantasy managers may have added Laferriere instead of Lafreniere. While that may have been a major mistake in 2020 or 2021, it is starting to seem less and less outlandish
