Frozen Four recap: Western Michigan, BU pick up close wins to advance to NCAA title game

The first day of the Frozen Four is in the books, and it sets up a fantastic clash of styles 

In two close games, Western Michigan and Boston University beat Denver and Penn State, respectively. The former needed double overtime. The latter had it locked down for most of regulation.

Let's recap the games:

Western Michigan 3, Denver 2 (2 OT)

As conference foes in the NCHC, Western Michigan and Denver are well acquainted with one another, and their regular-season results reflect that.

Each of the first three games were decided by one-goal margins. Two of them required overtime, and the second of those went into OT2.
