BURKE: Moritz Seider Shares the Spotlight With his Family on Draft Day

VANCOUVER — A working class hero — or a set of heroes, in this case — really is something to be. One needn’t tell the newest Detroit Red Wings defender Moritz Seider as much.

“I’m still shocked,” Seider told a host of reporters, commenting on the shocking expression caught by camera on his face at the moment Detroit announced their selection.

Upon regaining his composure, Seider quickly quipped on the importance of having his parents there, to share in the spotlight.

“It was so nice to share that moment with my family,” Seider said.

They earned it. Almost every bit as much as Moritz himself.
