The first-round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft came and went, and it was full value, as always, with its fair share of awesome picks, duds, and totally out of left field moments.

We’re going to tackle some of those picks, and look at which teams nailed it, and which ones need to make up for their lack of discretion through the first 31 picks with whatever ammunition they have left for rounds two through seven.

Lucas Raymond, No. 4 Overall, Detroit Red Wings

One has to respect a well-executed screen. Everything I’d heard through back channels coming into today suggested that it was a toss-up between Saginaw Spirit centre Cole Perfetti and SKA St. Petersburg goaltender Yaroslav Askarov for the Detroit Red Wings at fourth-overall.
