Film Room: Kale Clague has an opportunity to prove the Los Angeles Kings wrong with the Montréal Canadiens

By joining the Montréal Canadiens via the waiver wire, Kale Clague has an opportunity to prove the Los Angeles Kings wrong.

The Kings drafted him with their first pick of the 2016 draft, 51st overall, thinking that the defenceman could, one day, help form the core of their rebuilding blue line. At the time, Clague's 43 points in 71 games as a young draft-eligible blue-liner suggested that much was a distinct possibility, especially as he didn't receive the brunt of the offensive opportunities playing behind an elite WHLer in Ivan Provorov

Clague's potential was evident in his tools, his agile and quick skating, his control of the puck, and his precise passing. He looked like a player who would be able to match and even outmanoeuvre NHL players.
