CHL Trade Deadline: Breaking down the biggest – and boldest – moves

The Canadian Hockey League trade deadlines came and went, and they were, simply put… ridiculous. 

Normally, CHL trade season is dominated by the Ontario Hockey League. When teams decide to load up, they acquire multiple top players in a quick succession of trades. Without the ability to move first-round picks, OHL teams trade piles of second-round picks and uproot recently settled 16-year-olds in blockbuster deals. 

But for once, the OHL was outdone. 

This was the Wester Hockey League's time to shine. See, the WHL has a much more sane policy of allowing the trading of first-round picks while restricting the movement of 16- and 17-year-olds. So, when teams go for it, it looks outlandish. Just look at this:
