Film Room: Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Melvin Fernström’s offensive skill shining in Sweden

Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Melvin Fernström has been one of the hottest prospects in the European professional circuits over the past few months.
The 6-foot-2 winger has established himself as a regular fit with Örebro's SHL team during the second half of the season, having earned more and more minutes as the year has progressed. Since the start of January, Fernström leads the entire league in scoring among U21 skaters, having added 11 points in 22 games. That’s also good for the sixth-best total amongst his team.
In the midst of his hot streak in February, Fernström's NHL rights were traded by the Vancouver Canucks—the team that drafted him in the third round in 2024—to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Marcus Pettersson trade. According to GM Kyle Dubas, the Penguins' scouting staff already
