Who has the early edge between Adam Fantilli and Leo Carlsson?
They say you have to wait more than five years to know the results of a draft, and while that is absolutely true, I don't have that kind of patience.
After watching Leo Carlsson and Adam Fantilli for two years, analyzing their every move, and obsessively comparing them, I was curious to know how they have adapted to the NHL out of the gate, and most of all, if we made the right choice ranking Fantilli ahead at Elite Prospects.
This season, Fantilli has played more games; Carlsson has scored more. The Swedish forward’s hat-trick made the hockey sphere buzz a few days ago. He became the sixth-youngest player to score three goals in a game over the past 30 years in the NHL. But Fantilli has also made the most of a difficult situation. The entire bench is a hot seat in Columbus, but at least the third-overall pick’s side of it seems cooler than most. He's one of the few players holding up their end of the bargain.
So who has performed better so far? And more importantly has their recent play changed their projection?
