For Minnesota Wild it's been a descent into the NHL's mushy middle
One of the interesting subplots of the 2023-24 NHL season centered around Marc-André Fleury and whether this would be the end.
The veteran goalie, now 39, is the NHL’s second-winningest goaltender after passing Patrick Roy this season. There were rumblings throughout the season in the rumour mill on whether he’d get moved at the deadline to a playoff contender for one last run, but the goalie himself nixed any chance of that happening.
As he played games in Pittsburgh, Vegas, and Montreal – there were often stories about whether this would be Fleury’s last pass through town.
Turns out that’ll be next season.
The goalie signed a one-year contract extension with Minnesota on Wednesday, also announcing at the time that the 2024-25 NHL season would be his last.

It’s an oddly fitting signing,
