All streaks must come to an end and that is exactly what happened on Monday night.

Auston Matthews was held without a point for the first time in 17 games as the Toronto Maple Leafs were shutout by the Calgary Flames 3-0.

The Carolina Hurricanes had their six-game point streak end at six games in a 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

First star

Christian Dvorak, C, Arizona Coyotes

Christian Dvorak was awarded a penalty shot in the second period with Arizona down 3-0 to Anaheim and changed the momentum of the game.

Arizona scored four unanswered goals to beat the Ducks 4-3 and Dvorak scored twice, once shorthanded and on the power play.

Second star

Dustin Brown, RW, Los Angeles Kings

Captain Dustin Brown scored twice to help the Los Angeles Kings win their fifth straight, 3-0 against the St. Louis Blues.

It was Brown’s 1200th NHL game.

Third star

Alex Tuch, RW, Vegas Golden Knights

Alex Tuch scored two goals in Vegas’ 3-0 win over Colorado. He gave the Golden Knight’s a 1-0 lead at 2:53 of the second and made it 2-0 at 6:14.

Honourable mention

Anton Khudobin, G, Dallas Stars

Anton Khudobin made 49 saves and tied a career-high in a 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers. He faced 29 shots the second period alone.
