Stanley Cup Playoffs notebook: Winning teams led by unlikely heroes

If you were taking bets at the start of these playoffs about "Who will be the most dominant line of the postseason?" you'd have to get pretty far down the list of favourites before you hit the one that's currently playing about 16-18 minutes a night for the Carolina Hurricanes.

And yet, the trio that's a pair of 22-year-olds and a 34-year-old is reason No. 1, 2, and 3 why the Hurricanes made history in the first two rounds. Two sweeps, neither of them even all that competitive as sweeps go, for the first time since they started letting 16 teams into the playoffs back in the mid-1980s.

Logan Stankoven leads the playoffs in goals, despite playing fewer games than just about every other non-Hurricane who made it to the second round. Taylor Hall's 3-9—12 points have him among the league leaders
