Takeaways from the first phase of Free Agency

We took a first pass at a couple of big themes that caught our eye during day one of the free agency. We took a look at how teams were spending money rather recklessly, particularly on big defencemen that seemed to fit a certain ideal in their minds. 

We also unpacked all of the Seattle Kraken's recent decisions, trying to make sense of what their plan is and why they just used their highly coveted cap space the way they did. Now that things have really settled down for a minute here, we've been afforded some more time to reflect on the flurry of moves we've seen over the past 24 hours.
