Trade Analysis: Carolina Hurricanes acquire Jake Guentzel from Pittsburgh Penguins

There's certainly been no shortage of painful reminders of how miserable this Pittsburgh Penguins season has been for anyone who's made a habit of watching them play. 

But last weekend's pair of truly soul-sucking losses in Western Canada were a bit much for even them apparently, because they provided the final clarity they needed about what they had to do at this year's trade deadline. It's unfortunate given the age of their best players, but the most prudent move with how much work they have to do before they can even think about reasonably competing again was trading Jake Guentzel.
