What We Learned: Can Connor McDavid improve his output?

I saw a quote this weekend where Sidney Crosby was asked if he thought Connor McDavid could become the first player to reach 170 points since Mario Lemieux in the 1988-89 season.

Crosby said, basically, that all options were on the table for McDavid next season. He could reach 170, and who would be surprised? Even reaching 150, something not done since Lemieux scored 161 in 1995-96, was an outrageous feat. The next-highest scoring single season since the '90s was Nikita Kucherov's 128-point campaign five years ago, and McDavid casually obliterated that number. Leon Draisaitl cruised past it, too.
