What we Learned: Same old story as Vegas drops a close one to Minnesota

If there was any team the Vegas Golden Knights perhaps didn't want to draw for the post-season, it was the Minnesota Wild.

Vegas racked up wins against just about everyone in the West this season, but they had only one in regulation against the Wild in eight tries. Granted, three of those games went to overtime or a shootout, and all but two of them were one-goal results, and even one of those was a one-plus-an-empty-netter. So hey, at least they knew they could keep up even if the record was rather poor.

Even if they were rightfully confident in what the roster could do, Vegas had to know that the odds of a tight contest were big: Their offence was strong basically all year, but without Max Pacioretty and facing one of the stingiest xGA teams in the league, goals wouldn't exactly be easy to
