Who are the unluckiest players in the NHL so far this season?

Last Friday, I took a look at some players who were benefitting from clearly unsustainable percentage luck; players getting all of the bounces when they're shooting the puck or when they’re on the ice.

This good fortune was especially evident when analyzed through the context of their entire career to identify how much of an outlier this season was compared to their normal figures. Today, I’m going to do the exact opposite, identifying eight players who have been incredibly unlucky and who have been perhaps unfairly maligned due to factors outside of their control. 

These guys can be expected to regress positively - that is, through no change in their own performance, their luck will presumably gradually improve over the course of the rest of the season. This is never a guarantee, but it’s a safe bet to say that these guys’ second halves won’t be as painful as the first.
