BROWN: Brendan Brisson’s Dynamic Offensive Skillset Makes him one of the Draft’s Most Dangerous Skaters

DAWSON CREEK, Canada — The adjustment from Prep Hockey to the USHL isn’t supposed to be easy. The average skill level of players increased dramatically, as does the pace of play. Just don’t tell that to Brendan Brisson.

Brisson, a draft-eligible rookie for the Chicago Steel, already has 22 points in 20 games — on pace for one of the most memorable Prep-to-USHL seasons in recent memory.

Most recently, Brisson put on a show at the World Jr. A Challenge in Dawson Creek, B.C. Through four games, he tied Andrei Svechnikov and Nick Schmaltz for most points in a single tournament with 12. While he went pointless the next two, no player stood out more than the dynamic Brisson.

There are many areas where Brisson eclipsed his peers at the World Jr. A Challenge — the defensive zone, his puckhandling,
