Dylan Holloway is a special case in this 2020 NHL Entry draft. While many prospects head to college at some point in their young career, those who make the jump in their draft year are rare.

The league is a different challenge than Major Junior. In the NCAA, a first season draft-eligible prospect faces opponents a lot more advanced in their development; lineups are filled with players above 21-years-old on average, and in some circumstances, 25-years-old seniors.

Considering his much more mature opposition, Holloway’s production has to be looked at through a different lens than most other North American prospects. While those usually rack points in their draft year playing against their peers, goals and assists numbers don’t necessarily brush an accurate portrait of the 18-year-old NCA
