A two-way forward, Brandon Gignac is an excellent power-skater, as he uses strong strides to reach very good top-speed. Knows his role and plays it, playing well at both ends of the ice. Competes and is willing to finish his hits, but due to his lack of inches and pounds his hits are lacking the impact. Giganc possesses good hands and protects the puck well.
