Sons: Cal Babych, Jaret Babych & Ty Babych
Dave Babych was selected 2nd overall in 1980 after scoring 82 points with the Portland Winter Hawks. The big defenseman scored 44 points as a rookie in 1981 and would score no lower than 41 points until 1991, when he suffered multiple injuries. The 2x All-Star won World Championship silver in 1989 and retired from the NHL in 1999 with 142 goals and 581 assists.
