Over his 12-year career, Lemaire won 8 Stanley Cups with the Canadiens and scored 2 Cup winning goals. He scored at least 20 goals in every season and reached the 90-point mark 3 times. The 2x All-Star retired from the NHL in 1979 with 366 goals and 835 points in 853 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984 and won a 9th Stanley Cup as Head Coach of the Devils in 1995.

Cult/Star player for Montréal Canadiens

Lemaire is one of six players to have scored two Stanley Cup championship-winning goals, getting the Cup clinchers in both 1977 and 1979. The five other players are Mike Bossy in 1982 and 1983, Bobby Orr in 1970 and 1972, Henri Richard in 1966 and 1971, Jean Béliveau in 1960 and 1965 and Toe Blake in 1944 and 1946). In addition to his eight Stanley Cup wins as a player and one as head coach, Lemaire was part of the Montreal Canadiens' Cup teams in 1986 and 1993, serving as assistant general manager.
