Cult/Star player for Nottingham Panthers

"Les" kallad.

Strongman växte upp i starka hockeyfästet Winnipeg i Kanada. Andra världskriget fick honom att få kontakter i Europa eftersom han var pilot hos Royal Canadian Air Force och var bland annat stationerad i både England och Island.

Efter kriget försökte han med att flytta hem till Kanada och jobba som polis vilket inte blev alldeles lyckat.

Redan 1946 återvände Strongman till Europa och spelade för Nottingham Panthers och Wembley Lions i brittiska ligan. Inför säsongen 1959/60 värvade Folke Lindström honom till Malmö FF som både spelare och tränare. Under sin tid i Malmö lyckades han vara med och ta upp laget i allsvenskan trots dom vädermässigt ganska usla förhållanden för hockey som det bjöds på vid den här tiden.

Efter sin tid i Malmö FF återvände "Les" Strongman till spel hos Nottingham Panthers. Han var även i Schweiz under en tid där han representerade Zürich.
