His skill moves have a purpose, beating a defender, yes, but in a way to open up a pass to a teammate, and he doesn’t overdangle either. He picks his spots. There are playmaking details: delaying to let teammates get to supporting areas, attracting defenders to reach teammates and create space for them... The off- puck sense was still there, especially on the powerplay; clearly anticipates the next play and positions himself as a finisher or next passer.
