When given a bit of space, he fakes opponents before passing through them, creating space for his recipient. He jumps into the rush, looks for teammates around the slot, and occasionally beats opponents with a quick spin or deke. When play comes the other way, Van Mulligen has powerful, fluid backwards crossovers to build speed.
