Paul Henry Deneau, a millionare architect, was granted a franchise by the WHA. He initially considered to operate it in Dayton, Ohio, but the franchise ended up in Texas, becoming the Houston Aeros. Deneau sold the franchise to Irvin Kaplan in 1974.
He became the majority owner of another WHA franchise, the Indianapolis Racers, having acquired it from John Weissert and Dick Tinkham in December 1974. He sold the franchise to Harold Ducote in October 1976.
Deneau died on April 11, 1985.
