Edmond Jacques Courtois, a prominent Canadien lawyer, became the President of the Montréal Canadiens on December 30, 1971, when the Molson brothers, John David Molson, William A. Molson and Peter B. Molson, sold the franchise to the Bronfman brothers, Edward Bronfman and Peter Bronfman. He resigned from his position after the Bronfman brothers has sold the franchise. He died on July 3, 1996.
