Noel 'Derm' Dobbin and his brother Craig became the owners of the St. John's Fog Devils, after being awarded a QMJHL expansion franchise in December 2004. His son Brad was named President. He sold the franchise to Farrel Miller on January 22, 2008. He died on April 21, 2021.
