Courtney Payton (Cleveland Monsters)
AHL

At this point for the Cleveland Monsters, even one game would have been a welcome respite this week.

But three games in four nights? That is downright bountiful for a club that has been limited to three games through the first 23 days of March. Cleveland played back-to-back nights March 5-6 in a masterful two-game road sweep of the Chicago Wolves before sitting out two weeks. The Monsters returned to action this past Saturday, dropping a 5-2 game to the visiting Grand Rapids Griffins. Cleveland’s nine games are tied with the Utica Comets for the fewest in the AHL.
